Fear the LORD thy God

Deuteronomy 6:13
  1. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13, 20
  1. And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
  2. To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
  1. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

Psalms 33:8
  1. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

Proverbs 3:7
  1. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Proverbs 23:17
  1. Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Luke 12:5
  1. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

1 Peter 2:17
  1. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

The eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him

Psalms 25:14
  1. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Psalms 33:18-19
  1. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
  2. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

Psalms 34:7-9
  1. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
  2. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
  3. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Psalms 85:9
  1. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

Psalms 103:11-13, 17-18
  1. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
  2. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
  3. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
  1. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
  2. To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Psalms 111:5

Ecclesiastes 8:12-13
  1. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
  2. But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

  4. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
  5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Job 28:28
  1. And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Psalms 19:9
  1. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Psalms 111:10
  1. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Proverbs 1:7
  1. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 8:13
  1. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 9:10
  1. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 10:27
  1. The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Proverbs 14:26-27
  1. In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
  2. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Proverbs 15:16, 33
  1. Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
  1. The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

  1. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

2 Kings 17:35,37-39

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
  1. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
  2. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

2 Chronicles 19:7
  1. Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
