  3. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
  4. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
  5. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
  6. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Murmuring against others

  1. And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

Murmuring is corrupt communication

1 Corinthians 15:33
  1. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Ephesians 4:29-32
  1. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
  2. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
  3. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
  4. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Colossians 3:8
  1. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

James 3:5-18
  1. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
  2. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
  3. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
  4. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
  5. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
  6. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
  7. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
  8. Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
  9. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
  10. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
  11. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
  12. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Warning

1 Corinthians 10:6-12
  1. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
  2. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
  3. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
  4. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
  5. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
  6. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
  7. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Proverbs 18:21
  1. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Abstain fromโ€ฆ

Do and think onโ€ฆ

  3. Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Philippians 4:8
  1. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
